EDMONTON – Defensive lineman Shomari Williams has been signed to the Edmonton Eskimos practice roster, the team announced on Monday.
Originally drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders first overall in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft, Williams has since recorded 91 defensive tackles, 50 special teams tackles, five quarterback sacks and an interception.

The team nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie in 2010, Williams played four seasons with the Riders (2010-12, 2014) without missing a game during his first three seasons.

Williams, a Toronto native who went to Queen’s University, also spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2013) and Calgary Stampeders (2015).
