Councillor Norm Kelly gets exclusive invite to OVO Fest from Drake

TORONTO — City Councillor Norm Kelly is officially part of Drake’s crew.

Kelly has been extended an exclusive invite from Drake to attend the sixth annual OVOFest, happening this weekend at the Molson Amphitheatre.

The Canadian rapper posted a photo of Kelly on Instagram, causing many to speculate that Kelly would be the poster boy for the music festival.

Kelly’s office has yet to confirm whether the 73-year-old councillor will attend this weekend’s festival, but said they’re waiting to hear back from him.

The councillor was recently caught in the middle of a Twitter feud, after Meek Mill accused Drake of not writing his own lyrics.

Kelly swiftly came to the Drake’s defence, tweeting to Meek Mill that he was no longer welcome in Toronto.

The tweet received more than 135,000 retweets.

Meek Mill was quick to respond, referring to Kelly as a “thug” and questioning why he would have the “audacity” to call him out for voicing his opinion.

Drake then released two diss tracks, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back” aimed to fire back at to Meek Mill.

The Philadelphia rapper countered Drake with the song “Wanna Know” but it was not received well in the hip hop community.

Even Kelly was not shy to join in on the criticism of Meek Mill’s song, tweeting a clever twist on the track’s title.
