Leslie Jordan throws drink at man hurling homophobic slurs

TORONTO — Diminutive actor Leslie Jordan got into a grande confrontation with three young men who were using anti-gay slurs inside a Starbucks on Wednesday.

The American Horror Story star, who stands 4’11”, reportedly yelled at the homophobes to “get out” of the coffee shop on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood and then followed them outside.

A witness said when one of the men lunged at Jordan, the 60-year-old actor threw his beverage at him.

Police arrived on scene and briefly detained three men estimated to be between 18 and 23 years old. According to a West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station spokesperson, no charges were filed against anyone.

Jordan, who won an Emmy in 2006 for his recurring role as Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace, has also appeared in 2011’s The Help and in episodes of Desperate Housewives.

He is also an accomplished stage actor and playwright. He originated the role of Brother Boy in Sordid Lives, wrote and starred in Lost in the Pershing Point Hotel and toured with his one-man shows Like a Dog on Linoleum and Laughing Out Loud… and Proud!

 

Jordan has a number of live performances scheduled, including a Sept. 26 show with Canadian comedian Caroline Rhea in North Carolina.
