Revelstoke man dies in logging accident

REVELSTOKE — A tragic industrial accident near Revelstoke has claimed the life of a 66-year-old man.

Police say the Revelstoke man was knocked unconscious after being hit by a log during operations.

“B.C. Ambulance Service, both land crew and helicopter were, were dispatched, however the male succumbed to his injuries,” according to a Revelstoke RCMP media release.

RCMP say they were dispatched to the incident near the Laforme Creek Bridge on Highway 23 North around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

The man’s name has not been released.

Work Safe B.C. and the B.C. Coroner Service are investigating.
