The Coldstream Fire Department brought in a water tender to help out the Vernon Fire Department,
and a forestry unit was also on the attack.

A rotating three-person crew will stay on scene all night and into the morning to watch for flare-ups.

Vernon’s Deputy Chief of operations, Jack Blair, says because there was a small power outage in the area, it’s
likely a bird hit a power line, sparking the blaze.
