Winnipeg police pull man’s body from Red River

WINNIPEG — Police have recovered a body from the Red River near the Alexander Dock in downtown Winnipeg. The death isn’t considered suspicious.

The man pulled from the river was the person reported in the river near the Provencher Bridge at about 9:30 p.m. on July 14, a police news release said.

The body was spotted in the river around 10 a.m. Wednesday and reported to police. The river patrol and police removed the body from the river before noon.

Next of kin have been informed and a name won’t be released, police said.
