CALGARY – A vicious storm north of Calgary on Tuesday had many people keeping their eyes on the skies.
Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for Rocky View County near Airdrie and Crossfield and Mountain View County near Carstairs and Stirlingville just after 6 p.m.
No twisters touched down, but the storm still packed a punch, producing strong winds and large hail.

Hail did a lot of damage to vehicles and windows in communities such as Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Rimbey, Bentley and Rocky Mountain House.

The tornado warning was downgraded to a watch just before 7 p.m., and eventually cancelled altogether.
