The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is supporting an independent action committee called Citizens for a Nuclear Free Iran, dedicated to preventing Iran from obtaining the capacity to obtain nuclear weapons. Spokesman Patrick Dorton said Friday that the group is launching a national TV and digital ad campaign in many media markets around the country.

The new group argues that the deal increases the chances of war and will spur a nuclear arms race.

On the other side, groups like the liberal Jewish organization called J Street also are launching ad campaigns to shore up congressional support for the deal.
