Man arrested in abduction and gang sexual assault case

TORONTO – Police have announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection to an abduction and gang sexual assault involving three women earlier this week.

Police say Jimmy Minani, 36, of Toronto, surrendered to police on Wednesday, July 8.

It is alleged a vehicle that the victims were in broke down on July 6 around 4 a.m. near the Dundas St. W. and Winston Churchill Blvd. area of Mississauga when a van pulled up to offer assistance.

It was reported that while the women were given a ride home, one of them was sexually assaulted.

Police say after two women got out, the van fled the area with the third woman still inside and she was subsequently sexually assaulted by two men.

The victim was later able to escape in the Weston Rd and Black Creek Dr. area.

Police are looking for a second suspect described as black, dark complexion, 6′-6’2″ tall, with a large build. He was last seen wearing a hoodie, dark jeans and a blue baseball cap.

Police say the man is known as “Devon.”
