MONTREAL – It’s was a beautiful day to take in the sights and sounds of Montreal’s Carifiesta.
Thousands of people lined the streets for what has become Montreal’s great carnival.
In its 40th year, the annual parade delighted the masses with an array of colourful floats.
Participants and spectators were invited to sway to the beat of West Indies sounds and take in the traditional dancers and masqueraders in their glittering costumes.

The Montreal Carifiesta is the second largest Caribbean carnival in Canada after Toronto’s Caribana festival
The parade started at noon at the corner of Fort Street and Ste-Catherine Street, and headed east along Ste-Catherine, with Phillips Square being the final destination.
Festivities continue at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Ste-Hélène with more music and dancing.
