TORONTO – Police in Ottawa have confirmed the body of a man was pulled from the Rideau River Saturday around 9 a.m.
It’s believed it may be that of Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, one of the suspects in the slaying of a teen in London, Ont., who was shot after tracking down his lost cellphone using an app.
A search had been underway in the river for the man since Wednesday.

Police said the man had tried to run over two on-duty bicycle officers in downtown Ottawa Wednesday afternoon, injuring one of the officers. After a chase the man got away.
A few hours later, officials received a call about a man trying to swim across the river. Police attempted to enter the waterway and pull the man to shore. Appearing in distress, the man went under as police approached. He had not been seen since.
Jeremy Cook, 18, was shot and killed June 14. An arrest warrant was issued for Sultan, 23, of Calgary, who is wanted for second-degree murder in the slaying.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is looking into the case. The SIU investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
An autopsy will take place after the body has been positively identified.
