CALGARY – Police have charged two people in connection to a dozen break-and-enters in Varsity, earlier this year.

The suspects lived in the community, and allegedly walked through the neighbourhood to figure out information about the homes which were targeted.

Police believe the suspects, a man and woman, got into the homes by breaking in through rear basement windows.

It’s alleged the man would enter the home while the woman kept watch.

During the incidents, thieves stole jewelry and electronics like laptops and cellphones.

Both Richard Askin, 23, and Brooke Kelk, 19, are charged with 12 counts of break and enter.

In addition, Askin is facing one count of fraud under $5,000, one count trafficking stolen property and one count of theft.
