TORONTO — D’oh! Could one of TV’s most beloved couples be calling it quits?

According to VarietyThe Simpsons executive producer Al Jean said the upcoming 27th season begins with Homer and Marge legally separated.

“It’s discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it’s an incredible strain on the marriage,” Jean said in an interview published Sunday.

“Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who’s voiced  by Lena Dunham.”

The revelation about the Simpsons’ marriage came at the same time Jean revealed Sideshow Bob will finally kill his nemesis Bart Simpson in the show’s annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode.

On Wednesday, though, Jean took to Twitter to seemingly suggest he was playing the media for fools.

The official Twitter account for The Simpsons also addressed the reports.

Jean also told Variety it’s “unlikely” there will be another The Simpsons movie as long the series is on the air. He said 2007’s The Simpsons Movie “was such a time-intensive operation” that “pulled a lot away from the show.”
