TORONTO — Sideshow Bob will finally kill his nemesis Bart Simpson in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, executive producer Al Jean revealed Saturday.
“You’re going to see Sideshow Bob do something he’s wanted to do for a long time,” Jean told EW during the ATX Festival in Austin.
“I’m one of the people that always wanted the Coyote eat the Roadrunner. When I was a kid I wanted the rabbit to get the Trix. I hated frustration comedy, so we’ll scratch that itch.”
Of course, Bart won’t be gone for good. His demise will be part of the annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode that will air around Halloween.
Sideshow Bob, voiced by Kelsey Grammer, has appeared on The Simpsons since its first season but his mission to eliminate Bart began with the season 5 episode “Cape Feare.”
The Simpsons returns to Global on Sept. 27.
