WATCH: Incredible lightning strike caught on tape

TORONTO – We’ve all seen lightning strikes in our lives. Hopefully, you’ve never seen them this close (or closer).

Amateur video captured the incredible moment a bolt of lightning struck a church steeple in Grand Isle, Maine on Wednesday.

Sixteen-year-old Carl Bouley first posted the video to his facebook page, showing the bolt of lightning hit the St. Gerard Mt. Carmel Church.

According to WCSH-News in Maine, the church suffered damage to its electrical wiring, and several shingles were blown off the roof.

And according to Gary Campbell, the Chief of the Grand Isle Fire Department, this isn’t the first time the church has been struck by lightning. In 2007, another bolt of lightning caused some fire damage to the same steeple.
