Walker’s hat trick leads Brandon Wheat Kings over Saskatoon Blades 6-4

SASKATOON – Brenden Walker’s hat trick led the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 6-4 over the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday in the Western Hockey League.

Paul Clarelli, Darian Dzuirzynski and Michael Ferland also scored for Brandon (23-20-3).

Michael Burns, Ryan Olsen, Brett Stovin and Chris Collins each scored for Saskatoon (27-18-1).

Wheat Kings’ netminder Brandon Anderson made 25 saves on 29 shots, while Saskatoon’s goaltender Alex Moodie turned away 29 saves on 34 shots.

Both teams’ power plays were ineffective in the contest. Brandon failed to score on five man-advantage opportunities, while Saskatoon could not convert on three power-play chances.
