Shaw showcases its new call centre in Victoria

WATCH: The parent company of Global News, Shaw Communications, is expanding its presence across Canada with four new call centres including one that will employ nearly 300 people in Victoria. Kylie Stanton reports.

VANCOUVER – Shaw Communications is expanding its presence on the island.

The company’s new centre of expertise is in Victoria. Several hundred new jobs were created to staff the facility, adding to the existing 500 Shaw employees already working in greater Victoria.

It is just one of four customer care centres being expanded across the country.

“We want our customers to talk to employees that actually work in the communities that we serve because there’s a natural connection there,” said Chris Kucharski, consumer of Shaw Communications senior vice president.

“Of course, all of our employees are also customers of Shaw, so that really translates, we believe, in terms of a high-quality customer experience that our customers appreciate.”
