Winnipeg man charged in hit-and-run death of Chris Nero

WINNIPEG – A 75-year-old Winnipeg man is accused of driving the car that struck and killed Chris Nero on May 2.

Nero, 22, was found injured and unconscious in the Inkster Boulevard and Bunting Street area, apparently the victim of a hit-and-run. He was taken in critical condition to hospital, where he later died.

The central traffic unit investigated and identified a suspect.

A 75-year-old man was charged Wednesday with failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death. He’s been released on a promise to appear in court at a future date.
