TORONTO — Canadians hate mattress shopping, according to a recent survey. So much so that nearly one-third of respondents said they’d rather nurse a hangover than look for a mattress.
Online mattress retailer Casper commissioned the survey, which also found that when people were asked what they’d rather spend a weekend doing than mattress shopping:
- 31.9% would choose to nurse a hangover
- 28.4% would rather move boxes
- 23.6% would prefer to go to the dentist

Luckily, you don’t have to mattress shop that often. Unfortunately, there are plenty of other purchases that can be frustrating — from bathing suits and jeans to bedding and furniture.
