Missing man found dead in slough near Bruno, Sask.

HUMBOLDT, Sask. – A 71-year-old Saskatchewan man’s body was discovered by the RCMP underwater recovery team (URT) Tuesday afternoon. A tip from the public about floating debris led police to a slough approximately five kilometres east of Bruno, Sask.

While investigators were en route to the location, they spotted some faint tracks on a gravel road leading into the slough.

The URT used sonar equipment to locate the missing man’s body in a submerged vehicle.

The victim’s name has not been released but RCMP say he’s from the rural municipality of Bayne.

Police have confirmed the licence plate of the victim’s vehicle. The slough was around 10 feet deep.
