REGINA – A 14-year-old boy has been found dead in a creek in Regina’s Glencairn area.
Police were called to Fines Drive and Coleman Crescent at around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday for a report that a boy was possibly dead in the creek. Once police and EMS arrived they attempted to revive the youth but he was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
A neighbour in the area told Global News kids play there all the time but she didn’t think it was really safe.
“They put him on the flat board, the ambulance board and kept doing chest compressions on him and there were a lot of people around. Just a sad situation,” said resident Connie Haw.
The youth has been identified and his family has been notified.
An investigation by Regina Police has determined there is no criminal aspect in the 14-year-olds death.
