Police asking for public’s help after random assault in southeast Edmonton

EDMONTON — Police are asking for your help to identify two men wanted in connection with a “vicious” random assault in southeast Edmonton that police say was recorded.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. A man was at a home in the area of 78 Street and 14 Avenue when one of the suspects came to the door, claiming to have collided with the back fence.

The two men went out to the back alley, where the homeowner was allegedly assaulted by a second man, while the first one recorded the attack with a cell phone.

The victim suffered extensive facial injuries.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage of the second male at a nearby convenience store.
