TORONTO – A Pittsburgh area couple has stunned local medical staff after welcoming their baby boy into the world Thursday, weighing in at a whopping 13 lbs., 10 oz.
Michelle Hall had known for a while that her newborn son Isaac was going to be a big one.
“I always said we were nine months pregnant for the last three months,” she joked in a WTAE report.

Isaac was delivered by Caesarean section and was measured at 25 inches long – part of a new record for West Penn Hospital.
“We have never seen a baby of this size,” Dr. Andrew Sword told CBS. “And when I polled all the pediatricians from this hospital, some of whom date back to the early 1980s, there’s never been a baby on record who’s this size.”

The baby’s father, Brad, is well over six feet tall but there seems to be no other explanation for Isaac’s size.
The Halls aren’t using any of the newborn clothes they received before Isaac was born – he’s already in outfits made for a six-month-old.
“We got a frame where you can put the hand print and the foot,” Michelle added. “And I don’t think they’re going to fit.”
