KELOWNA — A family of three and their dog escaped unharmed after their Rutland home caught fire early Wednesday morning.
Flames were climbing up the side of the Nickel Road home when firefighters arrived at around 2:30 a.m.
A propane tank and what appeared to be melted garbage bins were found at the base of the fire.
The three occupants and their dog were outside when fire fighters arrived. A neighbour is taking care of them.
Investigators say the cause is not known and the RCMP will be involved in the investigation.
Damage to the home was isolated to the outside of the house and attic area.
