Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Bob Turner defeats Stephen Mandel in Edmonton-Whitemud

NDP candidate Bob Turner has defeated Health Minister Stephen Mandel in Edmonton-Whitemud.

The former mayor of Edmonton called tonight’s defeat “a challenge” for the PCs.

Mandel easily won the seat in a 2014 by-election, after being appointed Health Minister by former premier Jim Prentice.

“It was a real thrill and honour to be the Health Minister for the brief time that I was.”

The riding is in the city’s southwest and had been a PC riding since 1997.

  • NDP – Bob Turner

  • Independent – John Baloun
