CHATEAUGUAY — The family of a Chateauguay man who went missing April 3 has added a $3,000 reward from Sun Youth as they search for him.
The 79-year-old man, Ernest Rochon, disappeared over three weeks go from his south shore home.
According to Helio Galego, crime prevention director of Sun Youth, it’s a measure usually done as a last resort, with some success.

“It’s worked in the past a lot,” he said. “We’ve had a 33 per cent success rate.”
For his daughter, Darlene Rochon, the hardest part is not knowing what became of him, something that produces an uneasy feeling.
“It doesn’t get easier. It doesn’t go away till we find him.”
She pointed to a drawer full of blood pressure medication and pills for diabetes she said he needed to take, adding he may have become disoriented.

He was last seen just before lunch time at the Petro-Canada on Notre-Dame Ouest in Montreal.

Rochon is 5″6 and weighs 169 lb.
He speaks English but no French and has difficulty walking.
He was last seen driving a 2012 red Kia Sedona with the license plate FEH 6511.
