TORONTO — Fantasy, sci-fi and fashion collided on the Fashion Art Toronto runway Thursday night as “androgynous cyborgs and galactic beings” showcased Evan Biddell‘s latest collection, “More than Human.”
Biddell, born in Saskatoon, was Project Runway Canada’s first winner in 2007. After his career took off in Toronto, he made the leap to the Big Apple, where his first show was a “smashing success.”
For his much-anticipated return to Fashion Art Toronto (FAT 2015)’s Arts & Fashion Week, now in its 10th year, Biddell partnered up with Vancouver-based Jennifer Walton.

Here’s a look at their “posthuman” creation, captured by photographer Jonathan Hooper. Black light at the show created the illusion of the models having lizard-like skin.
FAT, held at Daniels Spectrum, is one of the biggest events in Canada that supports indie designers.
This year’s #MADEINCANADA theme put the spotlight on Canadian culture. The five-day event wraps up on Saturday.
