MONTREAL — Commuters from the West Island may be getting a welcome surprise in the mail in the coming weeks.
About 6,000 people will receive a share of a $997,000 class-action settlement.
The Quebec Superior Court approved the out-0f-court settlement of a class action lawsuit against Montreal’s transport agency (AMT) for 2009 service disruptions.
The disruptions took place in January and February 2009 on the Deux-Montagnes and Dorion-Rigaud (now the Vaudreuil-Hudson) lines.
Those who submitted a valid claim can expect to receive a $49 cheque.
