AMT class-action settlement payments in the post

MONTREAL — Commuters from the West Island may be getting a welcome surprise in the mail in the coming weeks.

About 6,000 people will receive a share of a $997,000 class-action settlement.

The Quebec Superior Court approved the out-0f-court settlement of a class action lawsuit against Montreal’s transport agency (AMT) for 2009 service disruptions.

The disruptions took place in January and February 2009 on the Deux-Montagnes and Dorion-Rigaud (now the Vaudreuil-Hudson) lines.

Those who submitted a valid claim can expect to receive a $49 cheque.
