TORONTO — Lea Michele is spending more than a month in Vancouver, the city where her boyfriend Cory Monteith died of an overdose.

Michele, 28, is co-starring with Kate Upton in the comedy feature The Layover, which is scheduled to shoot until June 5.

B.C.-born Monteith, Michele’s Glee co-star, died of an accidental overdose in his suite at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver in July 2013.

“I literally lived every day of my life feeling like the luckiest girl,” Michele told Ellen DeGeneres in December 2013 of her relationship with Monteith. “I just thought he was the greatest man.”

The Layover is being directed by actor William H. Macy, who will also have a role.

Michele and Upton play best friends whose vacation is thwarted by a hurricane warning and they find themselves stuck in St. Louis fighting over a guy.

Last July, Michele marked the one-year anniversary of Monteith’s death by tweeting a photo of the actor and writing: “We hold you in our hearts today, and every day, we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always.”
