SASKATOON – Tickets are on the way to more than 770 vehicle owners after drivers were caught speeding in Saskatoon photo radar locations during March. According to figures from Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), 3,363 vehicles were caught speeding in the city last month.
Most of those, 2,440, were at high-speed locations on Circle Drive. One vehicle was clocked doing 162 km/h. During the grace period in February, 2,321 vehicles were caught doing more than the 90 km/h posted limit, with the fastest driver doing 156 km/h.
At five different school zone locations, 923 drivers were caught speeding with the fastest doing 71 km/h in the 30 km/h zone.
In total, 772 speeding tickets were handed out – 465 for speeding on Circle Drive and 307 for school zone speeding infractions.
Just outside Saskatchewan on Highway 12 by Martensville, there were 341 speeding violations caught on camera resulting in 48 tickets being issued.

SGI officials say not all speeding violations result in a ticket being issued.
Tickets for speeding in photo radar locations started on March 8 following a three-month grace period.
