CALGARY – Firefighters battled a “stubborn” grass fire in Nose Hill Park Monday afternoon, two days after a similar fire burned due to windy conditions.
Fire officials said the fire was in thick brush, but was under control as of 3 p.m.
Crews continued to search the area for hot spots, and officials urged Calgarians to properly dispose of smoking materials and monitor backyard fire pits.

Battalion Chief Alan Ball said it’s drier than normal for the time of year, and officials want residents to be aware of the increased grass fire risks associated with the dry weather conditions.
