2 Kelowna car fires considered arson

KELOWNA – Two car fires in Kelowna early Friday morning are being deemed as arson by RCMP. Corporal Joe Duncan says one of the blaze’s was at Boyds Autobody and Glass in the 1900 block of Dayton Street. He says the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) notified police of that fire shortly before 3 a.m.

“Four vehicles were damaged by fire,” says Duncan. “RCMP and KFD investigators also located a second arson on Bedford Avenue which they believe is linked to the Dayton Street blaze.”

Duncan says a camper was damaged in the second arson.

“Police are treating both fires as Arson in nature and continue to investigate the possibility that they are related,” says Duncan.
