Oshawa teacher jailed for making child pornography

OSHAWA, Ont. – A teacher in Oshawa, Ont., has pleaded guilty to 11 charges, including one count of making child pornography.

The Ministry of the Attorney General says Stephen Martin also pleaded guilty to 10 counts of computer contact with a person under 18 for a criminal purpose.

Martin was accused of posing as a teenage girl online in order to trick boys into sending him lewd photos of themselves.

Martin was sentenced to two years less a day in jail to be followed by three years on probation.

He was arrested in April and was given credit for one year’s worth of pre-trial custody.

Martin is also banned from using a computer and will be placed on the sex offender registry for 10 years.
