REGINA – Moose Jaw police officers were called to Mac’s convenience store on 9th Avenue S.W. for an armed robbery Saturday afternoon.
Around 2:00 p.m. a suspect allegedly entered the store, pulled out a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. After the cashier complied with his orders, the man fled on foot.
However, the suspect was followed by several witnesses, who helped police track him down.
The officers used a taser before taking the suspect into custody and recovering the stolen cash and cigarettes.
The 27-year-old suspect will appear in court on April 6 for charges including armed robbery and resisting arrest.
Police say no one was injured in the altercation. The deployment of the taser will be reviewed.
