Cocaine, firearms, cash seized in Saskatoon drug bust

SASKATOON – Two people are schedule to appear in court Thursday afternoon following a drug bust in Saskatoon. The pair face a number of drug and firearm charges following a cocaine trafficking investigation by the drug enforcement street team (SIDEST) that started in February.

It ended on Wednesday when members of SIDEST stopped a vehicle on Bedford Road. The driver, a 53-year-old man, had cocaine and cash in his possession.

Officers then searched a home in the 10-block of Carrothers Court in the Dundonald neighbourhood where cocaine, firearms and cash were located.

Police say they seized a total of 63 grams of cocaine, $12,260 in cash, seven firearms, a Chevrolet Equinox, gold jewelry and numerous financial statements.

Further charges may be laid against the man and 49-year-old woman. Police continue their investigation.
