Driver has seizure, strikes 2 pedestrians: Saskatoon police

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police say a motorist suffered a seizure causing the vehicle to speed out of control and strike two pedestrians Friday. At around 3:15 p.m., officers were called to a Walmart parking lot in the 200-block of Betts Avenue.

A 68-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were struck by the vehicle. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The woman’s injuries are non-life threatening and the man was last reported in stable condition.

The vehicle got hung up on a curb at the end of the parking lot.

The motorist was disqualified from driving due to medical reasons. The operator has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and was issued a ticket for driving while suspended.
