Edmonton police searching for alleged fraudster

EDMONTON – A woman is wanted on 44 warrants related to fraud in Edmonton.

Michelle Sonya Ulrich, 24, is accused of multiple frauds that started with the theft of women’s wallets at Edmonton shopping malls. Police believe Ulrich stole the wallets between Aug. 2014 and Feb. 2015.

The victims were contacted by a woman falsely representing herself as a customer service agent from the victim’s financial institution.  The victims were then told fraudulent activity was detected on their bank accounts, and were asked to provide their debit and credit cards. Purchases were then made and cash withdrawn from the victim’s bank accounts.

Police are reminding the public to not provide sensitive personal information to anyone over the phone.
