Man’s death at SAIT campus not criminal: Calgary police

CALGARY – Calgary police are now saying a suspicious death at the SAIT campus is no longer considered criminal in nature.

Police and paramedics were called to the Begin Tower Residence just after 11:30 Friday night. Police say a man was found unconscious on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Dr. Carpenter Cir.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was rushed to hospital but did not survive.

As per police protocol, homicide detectives were called in to investigate.

SAIT officials say counsellors are on standby should anybody need to talk to someone about the traumatic scene.
