MONTREAL – Three of Quebec’s police forces were smiling ear-to-ear Wednesday as they announced the resolution of a string of home invasions across the West Island and Laval dating back to 2006.
Police in Trinidad and Tobago have arrested Septimus Neverson.
He is facing 54 charges for murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and robbery.
Neverson is believed to be connected to 13 home invasions on the West Island and in Laval involving 39 victims.
“When he will be brought back to our country, we don’t know,” said Patrice Carrier, a Commander with Montreal police.
“We still have to go through the extradition orders and this is something being dealt with by the justice department of the province and the country here.”
Local police in Montreal and Laval, the Sûreté du Québec, the RCMP, the Canadian Border Services and Trinidadian police were all involved in the arrest.
Extradition procedures have begun.
