PENTICTON – The City of Penticton has a message for whoever is gluing shards of pottery at sites around the community: please stop it.
City officials have received citizen complaints of unsafe art on infrastructure at three locations.
It appears the intent of the “broken plate vandalism” is decorative but the pieces have sharp edges.
“We’re hoping the individuals can channel their creative energy into better avenues,” said Mayor Andrew Jakubeit in a news release. “The reality is this is unsafe. The locations were all in public areas, particularly access points where beach users could be in sandals or barefoot, and not expecting sharp objects.”
Anyone who finds additional examples is asked to contact Bylaw Services at 250-490-2440 so they can be removed.
