TORONTO — Saturday Night Live has come under fire for a commercial parody that shows a young woman bidding farewell to her father so she can run off with ISIS fighters.

The video, which was broadcast as news spread that three young British women had run away to join the militant group, shows Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) being dropped off by her dad, played by Taran Killam.

“Looks like your ride’s here,” says Killam’s character. “You be careful, OK?”

“Dad, it’s just ISIS,” Johnson replies before running over to a white pick-up truck loaded with armed bearded men and black flags.

As the truck drives away, one militant says “death to America.”

The faux-commercial ends with the words “ISIS, we’ll take it from here, Dad” on screen.

Killam took to Twitter later to defend the satirical video.

“Proud of this,” the SNL star tweeted Sunday. “Freedom to mock is our greatest weapon. Thanks to the writers who asked not to be mentioned by name.”

On Twitter, viewers were divided.
