EDMONTON — It’s time to get into the groove Madonna fans: the Material Girl is finally coming to Edmonton, and she has added a second show.

The pop superstar is set to perform at Rexall Place on Sun. Oct. 11, and Mon. Oct. 12, 2015, as part of her Rebel Heart tour. The announcement is a ray of light for local fans, who have waited decades for Madonna to come to town.

Tickets for the first performance went on sale to the general public on Monday. Unfortunately for many fans the show appeared sold out within seconds, in what has become the norm for big shows. Many fans blame the numerous pre-sales.

Northlands says overwhelming demand led to a second show being added –  another move that has become the norm for concerts in Edmonton.

The second show will go on sale March 16 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster. The pre-sale for that show begins Fri. Mar. 13.

The 35-city tour across North American and Europe kicks off in Miami on August 29th, and wraps up in the U.K. in December.

The tour includes four Canadian dates: Montreal on September 9, Toronto on October 5, Edmonton on the 11th and Vancouver on October 14. Click HERE for the full list of dates announced so far.

Additional tour dates for Asia and Australia are expected to be announced soon, according to Live Nation.

Madonna’s 13th album, Rebel Heart, is due to be released March 10.

As noted in a press release, each concert ticket bought online will include a digital download of Rebel Heart‘s Super Deluxe version, which includes four previously unreleased studio tracks.
