Saskatchewan Mounties investigating suspicious school fire

SOUTHEND, Sask. – Mounties are investigating a suspicious fire at a northern Saskatchewan school. The fire happened during the evening of Feb. 20 at Reindeer Lake School in Southend.

According to a police report, Southend RCMP responded to a fire alarm at the school around 7 p.m. School staff were able to put out the fire that started in one of the classrooms.

No one was injured. Smoke and water caused significant damage to a portion of the school.
