LETHBRIDGE: Two 14-year old males are facing charges following an armed robbery at a west-side gas station Thursday night.
Police say just before 8:00p.m. the two youths entered the Gas Plus in the 100 block of Jerry Potts Boulevard West armed with a knife and an airsoft pistol. They demanded cash and when the 21-year old male employee refused, a scuffle ensued resulting in the employee being stabbed in the shoulder and struck with the firearm. The suspects fled the scene without any money.
One suspect was located by police shortly after the incident, the other was arrested Friday morning. Both face numerous charges including robbery, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. They are scheduled to appear in court next week.
Global News spoke with Mike Nam, the owner of Gas Plus, who says the 21-year-old victim was his son, is now recovering at home. “I just care about my son getting better, it will take some time”.
