St. Albert approves Const. Wynn Legacy Proposal

EDMONTON – St. Albert City Council approved a proposal Tuesday night to set aside funds to honour fallen RCMP Const. David Wynn.

Council has agreed to allocate $100,000 from the city’s 2014 budget year-end surplus towards the legacy fund. Community groups, businesses and individuals will be able to make their own donations.

“The tremendous outpouring of support we saw over the past few weeks demonstrates the impact his passing has had on St. Albert,” said Mayor Nolan Crouse.

“It is fitting for Council to take this step so we can create a meaningful way to preserve his memory.”

Mayor Crouse is also working with Const. Wynn’s family to decide on the best way to honour the fallen officer. Among the possibilities is a public memorial.
