DreamLift to Disneyland. Global News

KELOWNA – Two months ago, the new owner of Wendy’s restaurants in the Okanagan announced he was cancelling its popular DreamLift Day fundraiser to send sick children to Disneyland for a day.

Now another restaurant chain is stepping up to continue the tradition.

Another Sunshine DreamLift plane trip from Kelowna is slated to happen in December as a result of a new partnership between Papa John’s Pizza and The Sunshine Foundation of Canada.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

In a news release, Geoff Linquist, owner of the Kelowna and West Kelowna Papa John’s says “Our Team at Papa John’s looks forward to ensuring that children in the Okanagan continue to have their Sunshine Dreams come true. I have participated in previous Sunshine DreamLifts and know this is such a special program with so much community support.”

On April 29th, all sales proceeds and staff wages from participating Papa John’s restaurants in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George will be donated to Sunshine’s DreamLift and Individual Dreams programs.
