WATCH ABOVE: Dramatic video captures the horrifying final seconds of TransAsia Airways Flight GE235.
TORONTO – Shocking dash cam video of a TransAsia Airways flight clipping a bridge filled with cars moments before plunging into a river went viral Wednesday, shortly after news of the plane crash broke (you can watch the video above).
Several video clips were posted online, showing Flight GE235 with its wings completely vertical before one wing clipped a taxi and the plane headed in to the river. The turboprop was carrying 58 people when it crashed shortly after takeoff in Taipei, killing at least 23 people.
This isn’t the first shocking dash cam video to go viral. Here is a look at some of the craziest moments caught by drivers in the right place at the right (or wrong) time:
Russian meteor lights up the sky
Remember the meteor that injured more than 400 people in Russia back in 2013? The meteor itself was caught on multiple dash cams before triggering a sonic book that shattered windows and damaged buildings.
Dash cams have become very popular in Russia thanks to the country’s reputation for dangerous drivers and a court system that rarely accepts first-hand accounts of traffic accidents.
“You can get into your car without your pants on, but never get into a car without a dash cam,” motorists’ rights activist Aleksei Dozorov said during a Radio Free Europe interview last year.

Ninja-like motorcycle crash recovery in Belarus
A dash cam video captured in Mogilev, Belarus shows a motorcyclist careening into a lane at the same time as another vehicle. The motorcyclist crashes full speed into the back of the car, flips over his bike and lands on his two feet on the roof of the car.
