REGINA – It’s a dream job, getting paid to travel all over this beautiful province and document it as the Saskatchewanderer.

This year, wanderer Ashlyn George has plenty of experience.

“After travelling the word, I became even more proud of who I am, and where I came from.”

The Saskatoon resident won the honour of showcasing Saskatchewan to the world in 2015.

She will be using social media sites to share her experiences with fellow travelers.

She’s looking forward to camping and fishing in Northern Saskatchewan, and filming the northern lights.

George has already been to 300 cities in 37 different countries, and was most recently in Africa, when she found out she’d beat of 55 other applicants for the job.

“It’s pretty exciting, I remember the moment I read the email on my phone. It was a moment of awe. I almost didn’t believe it was real, that they had picked me, out of everyone who applied.”

George is already off and running… She started her adventure at Great Western Brewery earlier this week, and is now heading to the Hudson Bay area for snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
