TORONTO – A driver in California is lucky to be safe and sound after narrowly escaping a falling billboard Saturday.

In a surveillance video released by Stone Tooling – the business adjacent to the parking lot where the incident occurred – a pickup truck can be seen pulling out of its parking spot just as a massive billboard comes crashing down.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The fate of the pickup was determined by a matter of inches, and the result could have been disastrous if the truck had delayed for just a moment more.
