WINNIPEG – A YouTube video of a hockey fan breaking the glass while yelling following a whistle during a girls’ game is going viral Thursday morning.
“Crazy hockey Dad,” which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday, was shot at the York Ice Arena in York, Pa., during a girls’ hockey tournament, an arena worker confirmed Thursday.
The video shows what appears to be a low-key game until a player goes down and a man in the stands starts yelling. A fan walks towards the ice, raises his arm and slams his fist against the glass, breaking it.
“Way to go, Paul,” a voice says just before the video ends.

The video had 1,000 views early Thursday morning, but that rose to more than 25,000 views by 8 a.m.
Violence among minor hockey fans has been a continuing problem for hockey organizations in both the U.S. and Canada.
Many leagues have implemented mandatory sportsmanship courses for parents and a B.C. hockey league recently threatened to ban fans from the stands for a weekend if behaviour doesn’t improve.
